What is the current situation if you withdraw due to Corona or others ?

---- There has recently been an addition to travel cancellation insurance, which also covers the possible bankruptcy of the yacht owner.

? where is there a price comparison? Where can I find the best sailing yacht - the best catamaran?

---- we are not aware of any independent price comparator. That would be too much of an expense. We can check all the offers we have collected for better prices.

? which driving licenses are required? Can I rent a houseboat without a license?

---- Renting a houseboat is possible in Germany and Holland without a license. Rent a houseboat in Germany or rent a houseboat in Holland is possible with us. When it comes to ocean charter, we are happy to comment on individual cases, as both the driver's license presented and the national regulations vary greatly. Please inquire with us by email.

? which area is suitable for beginners? in what season? Is Croatia suitable?

---- There are areas around the world with particularly stable and therefore predictable conditions at certain times of the year. This includes Croatia in the vicinity. During the tourist season the winds are predictable and very rarely strong - good for beginners. In the Caribbean you can also find stable wind conditions during the season with a little more waves between the islands than in Croatia. There are also areas with dangerously changing weather phenomena. Here, too, we are happy to advise you in individual cases by email. We are now 44 years at sea.

? how do you find the best yacht? Where can I rent a boat?

---- just browse through the various search engines of the various charter companies. Determine in advance which size of the yacht, how many cabins, how many beds, how many toilets, which budget, etc. etc. Then ask for offers and send us so that we can work out better prices.

? what additional costs are there from the yacht owner?

---- Make sure to ask clearly when requesting an offer. Beware of "obligatory" extras, which are nothing more than parts of the charter prices outsourced, so that it looks better. Always pay attention to the total cost. Nevertheless, you always have to pay extra for diesel, water, gas and cleaning. Never save on insurance!

? is there fully comprehensive insurance?

---- Yes, with a deductible, which you can also cover separately. If you really "look for" you as a yacht owner can always find something when you return it. The normal wear and tear must never be passed on.

? which nautical charts are included?

---- Caution - mostly only the bare minimum. As an addition, I always recommend a map system on the tablet with GPS. BUT: firmly anchored in maritime law is the fact that paper map navigation is still required in recreational shipping - which is very important in the event of problems. Therefore: always navigate in the map!

? is there always a dinghy with you?

---- with our yachts, yes. How else would you get ashore while anchoring in the bay? With the outboard you have to pay or is often included.

? where can I find the best weather report?

---- e.g. at "Windy.com" and others on the Internet. Anyone who wants to familiarize themselves as a skipper (and a skipper should) will find good explanations of the weather patterns everywhere on the Internet. The expected weather for your trip for a yacht chartered from us will be worked out for you by our professionals. You can also use our free hotline during the trip. In every port and marina there are weather warnings posted by the harbor master.

? which insurance should you absolutely have?

---- Don't save. Liability of the skipper including towards fellow travelers, fully comprehensive yacht, international travel insurance (attention, no regattas are insured - even private ones), travel cancellation insurance for the entire crew with insolvency protection of boat owner.

? where can you rent or charter a boat or yacht with a dog? Where can I best rent a boat with a dog in the Mediterranean Sea or a houseboat?

---- Yes, you can do that with many yacht owners. Please inquire with us in individual cases. Please train beforehand with the dog in the dinghy on the local quarry pond. Often you do your dog a disservice if he is not used to it or is already old. A catamaran is also better suited for a dog on board because it does not lie on its side. Renting a houseboat is always better with a dog than the high seas and much more relaxed for everyone.

? how do you dispose of the toilet etc?

---- The laws on this are rightly becoming stricter and stricter. From a purely legal point of view, there are offshore areas where draining is permitted. Worldwide, however, there is already a demand to use existing extraction systems in marinas and ports. Is affordable.

? is there 220 volt electricity and/or 110 volt on board?

---- Always. For computers and cell phones etc. Not for large consumers. Unfortunately, your own coffee machine has to stay at home. Best you have your small travell transformer from 110 to 220 with you

? where can you buy groceries / meals cheaply?

---- we always recommend planning in at least 3-4 hours including stowing just for this. Firstly, it is always much cheaper in the larger cities with yacht charter operations than in small villages, and secondly, we have never found an on-board delivery company who works at supermarket prices. It’s also additional work. The supplier makes sense if you want to run out quickly with basic equipment. A successful holiday also includes shopping locally at the corner shop.

? what does a skipper cost per week? Where to book a skipper in the Mediterranean?

---- different everywhere, please inquire. Before the first trip as the responsible skipper, it is always advisable to book a professional skipper once.

? do you have any advice on seasickness?

---- everyone has their own special recipe ... but there are important preliminary considerations. The participants, who already know that they will have problems, should always inform them in advance at the first meeting before the trip. Have the others consider whether you feel sick in the car or on the merry-go-rounds. We always find that fear is a major factor. Therefore, inform the candidates well and make sure to actively participate in the ship's command. If you work sensibly, you will hardly get seasick even on a sailing yacht. If you have a sensitive crew, you should also consider booking a catamaran as a yacht that causes less seasickness. And of course the sea area has to match the skills and sensitivities of the crew.

? where can you dive with bottles? Where is scuba diving allowed in Italy or Greece?

---- each district has its own regulations. Please inquire precisely. In general, any historical treasures should of course be protected from looters.
